Space Wolves: Rune Priest

I usually *hate* painting metal miniatures - the details are often scratchy, it's hard to get rid of mould lines, and the extra weight makes them hard to hold whilst you paint them.  But this chap was actually a joy to paint.

The details were lovely and crisp, and not *too* busy - it just gives a nice sense of depth to the model.

Like most of my Space Wolves, this Rune Priest is a venerable chap with some nice, braided white hair.  He's a bit mardy, though...

Space Wolves: Rune Priest #2

This is my second Rune Priest for my burgeoning Space Wolves force.  If you want to check out my earlier, more orthodox attempt, you can see it HERE.

I used parts from the always-useful Wolf Pack kit, as well as a Nemesis Force Stave from the Grey Knights kit.  I also gave him one of the hands from the Grey Knights Strike Squad kit, as if he was casting a psychic power.

On the back, I gave him a Kromlech cape.  I'm not a huge fan of the way the cape billows out at the back so much, but I guess it's to offer room for positioning your models how you please.  It's alright, but I can't help but feel that it's treading on GW's IP a little too heavily...
