Space Wolves: Wolf Guard Pack Leader

My Grey Hunter pack needed a bit of leadership, and so I opted to include a Wolf Guard Pack Leader, replete with a Power Fist - all the better for enhancing the richness of his own saga.

I wanted to add a few banners into the army, both for a bit more character and some added verticality. A lot of foot-soldiers doth not a variegated army make! Marching to the banner of the Ironwolf, these chaps make war with equal relish against the xenos, daemon and heretic alike.

Here is the aforementioned Power Fist - ideal for slowing you down in challenges! Hurray for the UNWIELDY special rule! Le sigh...

I also decided to equip him with a face, as these tend to be of great use among the ranks of the Adeptus Astartes.

Space Wolves: Wolf Guard Terminator #2

Another Wolf Guard Terminator for the archives, here.  This time with a little bit of additional firepower in the form of an Assault Cannon.  Annoyingly, I am now annoyed by the lack of barrel holes thanks to all your comments on previous posts ;-)

Ahhh!  There you go, from the side view you can just imagine the barrels being drilled out.

One more Wolf Guard added to the ranks.  Technically, I need another couple of Wolf Guard to make the unit legal (I have three, and you need five to unlock the Heavy Weapon), but we're getting there!

Space Wolves: Wolf Guard Terminator

I love Wolf Guard Terminators!  And who wouldn't? Not only can they form a rock-solid unit, but they're also chock-full of character.

I've been really enjoying spending time on my Space Wolves - I think they are my most satisfying army.

Lightning Claws never seem super-effective to me, but they're so iconic that I have to have a few, at least.

Space Wolves: Wolf Guard Pt.2

The wonder of the Space Wolf Wolf Pack kit is that it can be used to make up pretty much any unit of Space Wolves, given the right selection of additional bits.  Blood Claws, Grey Hunters and Wolf Guard can all be made from a cracking set of sprues.

These Wolf Guard were made with the intention of them leading some Blood Claws or Grey Hunters into battle, and that idea has only been strengthened by the changes in the 7th Ed Codex.

These folks are equipped with Power Axes to add a bit of bite to any Blood Claw assault.

Back to the Space Wolves now, and these chaps are some of the elite of the pack - the Wolf Guard!  Seasoned veterans, these chaps are the wise heads of the Great Company, and are as tough as old nails.

These are a few of the group that I have.  These guys are actually pretty expensive, points-wise, so they will probably never see a lot of action on the tabletop, but fluff-wise I like them.

Replete with furrowed brow and mysterious metal stud in his forehead...

A fine set of whiskers on this chap - I'm sure you'll agree!

And this guy looks a bit like an Adam Ant fan.  Adam Ant is still okay, isn't he?  Right...?
